PS 107 Math Day 2010

Family Math Day on March 6 was focused on fun. Kids and parents learned about math through activities, including building bridges, hooking up utilities, and solving the maze. Kids got to make 3-D shapes with Zome tools, play Settlers of Catan, solve puzzles and figure out subway patterns. Approximately 100 kids demonstrated their computational skills and earned their licenses from the Department of Mathematical Values (DMV). TD Bank staffed a room with prizes and activities teaching about compound interest and banking. The fabulous hands-on displays were provided by Park Slope’s own Street Math Investigations. About 200 attended.
