Author and a wonderful storyteller, Diane Wolkstein, visits PS 107

Diane Wolkstein is the author of 23 award-winning books of folklore, including The Magic Orange Tree and Other Haitian Folktales, When the Ocean Came To Visit and others.  Whether recounting epics, trickster stories, or fairy ales, Diane Wolkstein speaks from the heart of each story she tells.

On June 6th Ms. Wolkstein visited our school and told some wonderful stories to kids from kindergarten through 5th grade to the beautiful musical accompaniment by Michael Braudy on violin.  I would like to express gratitude to the PS 107 PTA for making this event possible. Special thank to Ella Shames for the photos below.

Diane Wolkstein is one of the organizers of the CelebrateStory 2008 event which will take place on June 22, 2008 in Central Park by the Statue of Hans Christian Andersen.
